CAHN members are currently working with partners at Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership (GMHSCP) to develop a Memoradum of Understanding (MOU) with the Faith community from across religious traditions. The MOU is being developed based upon feedback from a conference held by GM Conference. CAHN is contributing to the MOU, which is being led by Warren Heppolette Executive Lead – Strategy & System Development at Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership and Masqood Ahmad to ensure that the cultural assets from within the black church are recognised and utilised as spaces for health and wellbeing improvement.
Part of the process of putting the MOU together will require building relationships with faith communities and GM. The MOU working group decided that the best approach would be to develop the MOU utilising and building upon the working group existing connections. This will help to generate a database for contacting faith leaders which will begin the dialogue and wider consultation around the MOU at a conference event in November 2017.
